So bad it’s good? Or so bad it’s just well..bad? The trailer for the third installment of the rebooted 80’s teen horror The Lost Boys hit the internet today in all its bordering-on-B-movie glory.
The Lost Boys: The Thirst sees Corey Feldman reprise his role of Edgar Frog, joined this time round by his Vamp-killing partner Alan, played by Jamison Newlander. It was explained in the 2008 DVD sequel The Lost Boys: The Tribe, that Alan Frog had succumb to the neck biting craze, resulting in his notable absence from the film. However, internet Fanboys spoke and movie execs listened hastily bringing back Newlander to reprise his role for a third outing.
It’s probably safe to say that the mega success of the Twilight series and all things Vampire is to thank for the sudden spike in interest in this bloodsucking franchise. Those who payed close attention to the previous film will have seen Corey Haim’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo post credits. While the late Haim doesn’t make an appearance in The Thirst, rumor has it he was to play a big part in the planned fourth installment.
As long as the film doesn’t try to be anything more than it is – a tongue-in-cheek flick with some blood spurting death scenes, then there’s no reason why The Lost Boys: The Thirst can’t be kind of fun. Check out the trailer below – guaranteed to have you humming ‘Cry Little Sister‘ for the rest of the day.
